Cinnamon French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tbsp (60 g) butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 slices challah, brioches or white bread
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup, warm

Preparation:

  1. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar and set aside.
  2. In a 25cm or 30cm frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk together the cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour into a shallow dish, such as a pie plate. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture. Fry the slices until golden brown, then flip and fry the other side. Serve with syrup.
