Apple Crumble with Cinnamon and Oatmeal topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 7 medium apples (about 1.3 kg)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1.5 cups brown sugar
- 250 g melted butter
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1.5 cups premium flour
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
- Special equipmentbaking tray
Preparation:
- Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Place the apple slices on a baking sheet, drizzle with lemon juice, and toss with 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
Spread the apples evenly on the baking sheet, cover with foil and bake until the apples are softened and have released some juices, about 20 minutes.
- Combine rolled oats, flour, the remaining 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon salt in a large bowl, breaking up any lumps with a fork. Add the remaining melted butter to the mixture, stirring with a fork until crumbly.
Carefully open the foil and spread the rolled oats mixture evenly over the top. Bake until the top is crisp, golden brown, and bubbly, about 15 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
