Preparation:

Combine 1 3/4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt. In a separate bowl, beat 1 egg, 2 teaspoons ghee, 1/2 cup each of milk and sugar; add flour and spices. Knead the dough and roll into balls.

Heat deep-frying oil to 180°C. Fry, turning the donuts with a slotted spoon, for 3-4 minutes. Remove the donuts with a basket and secure them at the edge to drain. Roll the donuts in 1/3 cup powdered sugar mixed with pumpkin pie spice.
