Five Spice Roasted Pork with Broccoli and Orange topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 500-600 g pork tenderloin
- 1 large onion, cut into thin half rings
- 3-5 cm piece of ginger, peeled and cut into slices
- 3 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
- 1 unpeeled orange, cut into wedges
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 head of broccoli, small florets, coarsely chopped, stem peeled and sliced
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon seasoning Five Spices
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C. In a baking dish, combine broccoli, onion, ginger, garlic, and orange with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, add 3/4 teaspoon of salt, and season with pepper to taste. Let stand.
- Pat the pork dry and pound well, rub with five-spice powder and 1 teaspoon salt, and season with a little pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the pork and brown on all sides for 8 minutes.
- Transfer the pork to a baking dish with the vegetables and roast until a thermometer inserted into the center of the pork registers 145°F (65°C), about 15-20 minutes. Transfer the pork to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice. Serve the pork with broccoli and orange wedges on individual plates.
