Pan-fried tilapia

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 0.7 kg fresh tilapia fillet
  • 1/4 cup premium flour
  • 2 tsp seafood seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. l. rapeseed oil (canola)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C.
  2. In a shallow baking dish, combine flour, seafood seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Add the tilapia and lightly coat each side.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Shake off any excess flour from the fish and add it to the skillet. Fry on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer the tilapia to a baking sheet lined with a paper bag or paper towels and keep it warm in the oven while you prepare the sauce.
  4. Reduce the heat under the pan you fried the tilapia in to low and add the butter. Once the butter has melted, add the garlic, lemon juice, and parsley and cook for 2 minutes. Arrange the tilapia fillets on plates, drizzle with the sauce, and serve with baked vegetables.
