Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 and 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 220 g softened butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tbsp. chocolate granules, 2 chopped Hershey's chocolate bars or M&M'S jelly beans
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. In another large bowl, combine butter, white and brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cocoa. Gradually fold the flour mixture into the butter mixture and knead into a dough. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, and distribute evenly.
  2. Cookie. Drop tablespoons of batter onto greased baking sheets and bake for about 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
  3. Bars: Place the dough in a greased 22cm square baking pan and press down. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into squares and let cool.
