Perfect crispy potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 3 russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) butter

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.

    Grease a large baking sheet with oil and place the potatoes on it. Using a pastry brush, brush the tops with oil; season with salt and pepper. Bake until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Cool the baking sheet with the potatoes on a wire rack.
  2. Take a baking dish and place the potatoes in it, removing them from the pan with a spatula. Pour in the water and cover the casserole to prevent the liquid from evaporating. Cook the potatoes until tender (4-6 minutes or longer).
  3. Using your fingers, crumble the butter around the potatoes to coat them. Continue baking, uncovered, until the potatoes are crisp and browned to your desired level (15-25 minutes), depending on how browned you want them. Transfer the potatoes to a wire rack to cool and serve.
