Ingredients:
- 3 russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 1 tbsp (15 g) butter
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 190°C.
Grease a large baking sheet with oil and place the potatoes on it. Using a pastry brush, brush the tops with oil; season with salt and pepper. Bake until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Cool the baking sheet with the potatoes on a wire rack.
- Take a baking dish and place the potatoes in it, removing them from the pan with a spatula. Pour in the water and cover the casserole to prevent the liquid from evaporating. Cook the potatoes until tender (4-6 minutes or longer).
- Using your fingers, crumble the butter around the potatoes to coat them. Continue baking, uncovered, until the potatoes are crisp and browned to your desired level (15-25 minutes), depending on how browned you want them. Transfer the potatoes to a wire rack to cool and serve.
