Meatloaf in the oven

Ingredients:

    Meatloaf

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 900 g of ground beef
  • 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 tsp seasoned salts
  • 1/4-1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 8-12 thin slices of bacon

    Tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 6 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1-2 drops of hot sauce
  • 1-2 drops of Worcestershire sauce

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the meatloaf: Preheat oven to 180⁰С.
  2. Pour milk over the bread and let it soak for a few minutes. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread and milk, Parmesan, salt, a little pepper, seasoned salt, and parsley. Add the eggs. Using clean hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Place the resulting mixture in the shape of a loaf on a foil-lined baking sheet with a rack to allow excess fat to drain from the meat.
  4. Place slices of bacon on top and tuck them under the meatloaf to help it hold its shape.
  5. Prepare tomato sauce: Pour the ketchup into a bowl. Add the brown sugar and dry mustard, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Pour 1/3 of the sauce over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes, then pour over another 1/3 of the remaining tomato sauce. Bake for another 20-25 minutes until cooked through; the meatloaf should no longer be pink in the center. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

    Serve with remaining tomato sauce.
