Italian Marinara Sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 can (800 g) of canned pureed tomatoes in their own juice
- 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 1/4 tbsp. grated onion
- 3 chopped garlic cloves
- A pinch of red hot pepper flakes
- 8 chopped fresh basil leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion, garlic, and red pepper, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes. Add the tomatoes, basil, and bay leaf, and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat.
- Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaf.
Exit: 4 tbsp.
