Ingredients:
For the syrup:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
For one serving of cocktail:
- 25 ml. bourbon
- 25 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 15 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 25 ml syrup
- Champagne or any dry sparkling wine, chilled
- Lemon zest, cut into thin strips, for garnish
Preparation:
- Prepare the syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Place the saucepan on the stove and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Remove the saucepan from the stove and let the syrup cool completely.
- Prepare a cocktail: Place 6 ice cubes in a shaker, add bourbon, syrup, lemon juice, and orange juice. Shake for 10 seconds, then strain into a glass. Top with champagne. Garnish with lemon zest.
