Chicken paprikash with noodles

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 sweet pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • 700 g chicken legs, remove skin, trim fat and separate meat from bones, cut meat into pieces
  • 2 cups lightly salted chicken broth
  • 250 g egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Bring a saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook for the amount of time indicated on the package. Drain in a colander.
  2. Fry the bacon in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add the onion and bell pepper and fry for another 3 minutes. In a large bowl, combine the flour, paprika, marjoram, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add the chicken and stir.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the chicken and cook, stirring, until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 12 minutes.
  4. Stir in sour cream and parsley and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve the chicken paprikash with noodles.
