American cocktail "Vieux Carré"

Ingredients:

  • 20 ml rye whiskey
  • 20 ml of cognac
  • A little sweet vermouth
  • A little Peychaud's bitters
  • A little Angostura
  • 0.5 tsp. Benedictine liqueur
  • 1 canned cherry on the vine or Maraschino cherry

Preparation:

  1. Combine whiskey, cognac, vermouth, bitters, and Benedictine in a shaker filled with ice. Stir well with a spoon.
  2. Strain into a whiskey glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry.
