Sweet and Spicy Chicken Kebabs

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 tbsp and 1 3/4 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 finely chopped jalapeño pepper (optional)
  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 2.5cm thick cubes.
  • 2 medium onions, cut into 5cm pieces.
  • 2 large red bell peppers, cut into 5cm pieces.
  • 1 zip-lock bag with a capacity of 4 liters.
  • 4-5 wooden skewers
  • 1 can (600 g) grilled beans

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the butter, honey, and soy sauce. Add the brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and jalapeño and stir to combine.
  2. Place the chicken in a 4-quart bag, pour the marinade over it, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight if you're pressed for time). Drain the marinade.
  3. Preheat grill (or oven) to high heat or 220°C.
  4. Thread the chicken pieces, onion and bell pepper onto skewers one by one.
  5. Lightly oil the grill grate and place the skewers on the grate. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning several times, until the chicken runs clear.
