Sweet fruit salsa and homemade cinnamon chips topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
Sweet fruit salsa
- 2 sour green apples
- 1 kiwi
- 0.5 cups red seedless grapes
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 1 small orange
- 2 tbsp. l. brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground Saigon cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons apple jelly
Cinnamon chips
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp ground Saigon cinnamon
- 10 wheat tortillas, 20 cm in diameter.
- 1 tbsp melted butter or margarine
Preparation:
- Salsa:
Finely chop the apples, kiwi, grapes, and strawberries and place in a medium bowl. Grate the orange zest and measure out 1 teaspoon. Juice the orange.
- Add the juice and grated zest to the chopped fruit. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple cider vinegar. Fold the dressing over the fruit, tossing gently. Refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Cinnamon chips:
Preheat oven to 200°C. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush one side of the tortillas with melted butter. Sprinkle the tortillas with the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
- Cut each flatbread into 8 triangles (like a pizza) and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool. Serve with fruit salsa.
