Sesame beef burgers with kimchi mayo topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup chopped kimchi
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 700 g of ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
- 2 tbsp. l. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
- Vegetable oil to grease the grill grate
- 4 sesame seed hamburger buns, split in half on the sides
- Sliced pickles and/or sweet potato chips, for serving
Preparation:
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Combine the kimchi and mayonnaise in a small bowl and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. Form into 4 patties, 10 cm wide and 2 cm thick.
- Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil. Add the patties and cook until grill marks appear on the bottom, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
- Grill the buns. Transfer the patties to the bottom bun halves. Top with kimchi and pickles, then cover with the top bun halves. Serve with chips.
