Natural Slow Cooker Pork Cutlets topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 4 natural boneless pork cutlets, approximately 2.5 cm thick.
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1/4 cup grainy mustard
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 small shallot
- 1 large Pink Lady or Fuji apple
- Corn porridge or rice seasoned with butter, for serving
Preparation:
- Place the pork chops on a rimmed baking sheet and season both sides with salt and pepper. Sprinkle flour on a small plate. Dredge the chops in the flour and return them to the baking sheet to come to room temperature while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
- In a 4-6 quart slow cooker, combine the mustard, honey, and 1 tablespoon of water. Slice the shallots into rings and add to the pot, separating the rings. Cut into 1 cm pieces (remove the core) and add to the pot along with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir. Spread the mixture into an even layer and arrange the pork chops on top, overlapping them if necessary.
- Cover and cook over low heat until the pork is cooked through, about 3 hours. Transfer the patties to a large plate and top with warm apples and sauce. Serve with cornmeal or rice.
