Salsa on a grater

Ingredients:

  • 3 large plum tomatoes
  • A quarter of a white onion, peeled
  • 1 jalapeno pod
  • 1 small clove of garlic
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro leaves
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Preparation:

  1. Place a coarse grater in a large bowl. Grate the tomatoes. Drain any excess water from the bowl. Keeping the onion layers together, grate it using the coarse grater as well.
  2. Grate half a jalapeño on a fine grater, discarding the seeds as you go. Grate the garlic on a fine grater.
  3. Add lime zest to the salsa by finely grating the rind. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the salsa. Season with salt to taste.
  4. Stir cilantro leaves into the salsa and serve with tortilla chips.
