Ingredients:
Buns
- 3 cups premium flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
Sprinkling
- 220 g butter
- 1.5 cups of sugar
- 3 tsp ground cinnamon
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 175°C and lightly grease a 12-cup metal muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, combine the sugar and shortening. Add the eggs and mix again. Alternately add a third of the flour mixture and a third of the milk, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Fill a muffin tin two-thirds full with batter. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Remove the muffins from the tin and set aside.
- Topping:
Melt the butter in a bowl or glass container. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
Dip warm muffins into butter, coating thoroughly on all sides.
Then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Don't be afraid to coat them thoroughly. Let the kids help!
