Ham and cheese buns

Ingredients:

  • 1 tube (400 g) chilled pizza dough
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1.5 tbsp. grated mozzarella, divided
  • 350 g thin slices of ham
  • 1 large egg

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Roll out the pizza dough on a cutting board. Brush the entire surface with herbed olive oil. Sprinkle with 1 cup of grated cheese, lay an even layer of prosciutto, and then sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella.
  3. Starting at the bottom edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut the log in half, then cut each half into 6 pieces. Place the buns on their sides on a non-stick or lightly greased baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 2 tablespoons of water. Brush the tops and sides of the buns with the beaten egg. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes.
